The technique for making Mosquito Netting was introduced to Japan from China in the 8th century. Mainly silk and cotton were used to create mosquito net fabrics. After the 15th century, hemp was used. Mosquito Netting was a luxurious product that only aristocrats were able to afford. It gained popularity and was used until synthetic fibers were invented. After the 1960s, the use of Mosquito Netting declined.
