Nara Bleached Fabric
"Nara Sarashi" (Nara Bleached Fabric)
Sarashi is a fabric production method which was developed in the 16th Century in Nara prefecture.
It has been designated as one of the Intangible Assets of Nara prefecture.
The quality of the texture comes from the high thread concentration of the woven surface and the finest thin yarn. Craftsmen who can make the finest Sarashi products are few these days, and therefore the number of fine Sarashi products is limited.
